Dom’s work delves into inclusion in media, sex education for Disabled/LGBTQIA youth, marriage equality, institutional bias, and reproductive rights. He has directed the music video, “Spaces” and multiple short films. Dom is a trans, bisexual, wheelchair-using, multiply-disabled activist who believes their work can change the world.

Dom Evans is a non-binary trans queer crip filmmaker, writer, film scholar, gamer, dad, and nerd. He has a BFA in film and also studied political science. Dom’s first love is film and television, and much of his work revolves around the inclusion of disabled and other marginalized people in all forms of media. In 2014, he founded the Twitter chat #FilmDis, a monthly discussion on disability representation, which has evolved into FilmDis, a media monitoring organization that is about to release its second research study into disability representation.
Through streaming, Dom explores representation, gender, reproductive rights, and sexuality. He is a variety streamer and usually games with his partner, Ashtyn. Dom also uses his Twitch and YouTube channels to educate people about accessible gaming, as well as other disability-related issues. Beyond that, he spends most of his time working with film and television studios on issues of representation,

Dom Evans is a multiply disabled (SMA, OCD, ADD, anxiety, chronic pain) non-binary trans queer filmmaker, writer, gamer, streamer, film scholar dad, and nerd. He has a BFA in Film and also studied political science. In 2014, he founded the Twitter chat #FilmDis, a discussion on disability representation, which has evolved into FilmDis, a media monitoring organization that offers a multitude of services. With his partner, Ashtyn, they are set to release their second study into disability representation on television in spring 2021.
On Twitch, Dom typically plays games laying down due to chronic pain which makes it painful to sit in his wheelchair for hours. Dom streams four days a week with Ashtyn. Through gaming, he has fought for the inclusion of disabled people on Twitch and in other aspects of gaming culture. His hope is that one-day Twitch will include a disability tag.
As a prolific public speaker, Dom has spoken at events around the world, including two years at New York Comic Con and in Australia. Since 2019, he’s been working with major studios out of Hollywood, with the hope of creating accessible spaces and opportunities for disabled people in the industry.
